On the 25th of April I had the chance to organize the Global Azure Greece 2020 event, the first virtual one of its kind, and also deliver a session thereat. I was one out of 248 international and 18 Greek speakers that took part in this huge online event.

I started organizing the Global Azure bootcamp in Greece in 2016 and I am very happy that, every year, the event gets bigger and better, with more speakers, larger audiences and more friends and Azure enthusiasts participating in it.

This year, due to the coronavirus outbreak, we switched to virtual-only and it was a truly unique experience, although it was a bit weird simply talking for 45 minutes in front of a screen without being able to see the audience. However, the overall feedback was positive and, truth be told, there will always be challenges to which we will have to adapt.

In regards to the presentation, I talked about more advanced topics concerning Azure API management and, after a brief introduction on the basics of the service, I focused more on how someone can:

  • monitor the service’s performance and setup automatic rules to scale based on capacity metrics;
  • setup self-hosted gateways, expand API Management support for hybrid and multi-cloud environments and manage APIs hosted on-premises and across clouds from a single API Management service in Azure;
  • save and configure API Management service through Git.

The audio is in Greek, so if you are brave enough with the language, enjoy 🙂
